A blend of 70% Corvina, 20% Rondinella, 5% Sangiovese and 5% Molinara.
Really tasty stuff here. Opaque dark ruby. Very shiraz like without the pepper and spice. Deep chocolate notes with dark cherry and plummy, smokey fruit. International in style, straight forward with little complexity but a nice and tasty wine. $14 after a 25% discount.

Don't know if we've tried the Zenato, but it does show up around here from time to time. Haven't found a Ripasso that I haven't liked yet.

Popped another last night and if there's a better all around, go to, food friendly, can always rely on, house wine I don't know of it. One of my local haunts is selling this for $9.99.

Found Drew's notes on this beaut and wholeheartily agree. Just enough dried fruit (raisins? prunes?) to make it interesting, a sound backbone to make it food-friendly, and decent finish. With herb & veggie meatloaf (of beef, turkey, spinach and garlic with Italian seasoning), garlic mashers and sauteed zucchini. Failed to enter it into the db but suspect price was $15 or so. Will definitely buy more.
