This is my first Amarone. Very dark purple to brown color with long legs. On the nose a very balance aromas of dark fruit. Cherries and black berries with raisins some where. Leather and Oak. On the palate you get more leather with balance acidity and sweet tannins. Medium to long finish. Very nice.

Half bottle later... The aromas open to add sweet caramel and hint of chocolate and coffee. In the palate you note that the alcohol diminish in intensity but the finish stays as in the beginning.

15% alcohol. $22.00 @ Sam’s Club.

This is the cheapest Amarone price that I have seen. And if this is what you can expect from this type of wine... I'm a believer!!!! Yeah, I've posted notes on the '97 and '00, of which the latter was the better. Yours are in agreement with the '00. Nice juice.

I'm not a Sam's Club member but I may have to check out their wine selections locally. It may be worth joining for those kind of prices on Amarone.
