We had adopted the '00 as a part time house wine and got a case of the '01 when we ran low. We absolutely love the '01, finding much more character than the '00, starting with bushels of fruit and intriguing with nice earthy overtones. Here's the odd thing. I brought a bottle to a friend yesterday and he noticed a double label on the back. We peeled off the back label which was only afixed with gum adhesive so it came off easily. Under the '01 back label that coincided with the '01 front label, there was an '03 back label. What's with that? I'll bet the DOC commission would have some serious yelling and hand-waving to do if they saw shenannigans like that.
