The bottle is indeed 12 liters. It sits approx 2' - 2 1/2' tall. The cork is roughly one inch in diameter and sits 3 inches deep into the neck of the bottle. From what I've been told the wine is still good......any ideas?

If this is really a 12 liter bottle, over three gallons!; it brings up a number of questions. First, it may mean the wine is still good. Second, how big is the cork? Third, if it's as big as we imagine, how would you get it out? If all this proves positive, the final question is how much value a huge old jug of Barbara d'Asti has. If the wine is still good, one big pasta party may be in order.

This posting has been sitting around for awhile and we are flagging it in hopes that one of our more learned Italian Wine experts rises to the bait.

IK, I`ve ducked this post for 2 main reasons ( 1 ) My personal trainer tells me it`ll cost 416 bucks to get into good enuf shape to lift that puppy and ( 2 ) I haven`t drank 12 liters of Italian Barbera in mine hole life. winoweenie
