Had this last night at Carrabba's. Our daughter gave us a gift certificat for Christmas.

Matched well with the Lazannga (spelling?). Though not worth the $8.00 a glass and $31.00 a bottle. But will pick it up if I find it at a retailer for around $10.00 a bottle.

I did a quick search and most of what I found on this wine was Carrabba's menus around the country. I guess they bought up this wine to make a good profit on. When I asked the waiter about this wine he raved about it. They have dropped the Iluminatti Montepulchino de Abruzzo, I would have rather had that wine.

We have a fairly new Carrabba's Italian Grill in our main shopping mall area and I finally tried it Dec. 21st, the night before leaving for Christmas in Iowa. My veal marsala with pasta side dish was quite good but too large a portion. I took home one slab of veal with mushrooms and froze it to finish off Dec. 27th. Based on that one experience, I will probably be revisiting Carrabba's from time to time--reasonably priced for the food quality and service.

All their portions are huge. We have learned to order one meal and split it and order an extra salad.

However, this time we each ordered the lazanga, thinking it would be a small portion for the price. We were wrong. We still brought back enough for lunch the next day.

Try there chicken soup. I can't remember the exact name for it. But it is great. They make it a day ahead then serve it the next day to let the flavors meld together.
