I am looking for a wine called Masi -- I am not sure if it is the name of the winery or the name of the wine. My father saw a picture of the wine bottle in a book on the food and wines of Italy. He noticed it in the book because it was a familiar family name. His grandparents and great grandparents had the same name as this wine -- Masi. It could possibly be produced by distant family members of my father.
I am hoping to find an purchase a few bottles of it as a gift for my father. I would love to be able to present him with it for Christmas this year. Would you be able to point me in the right direction concerning this request for the wine by that name?

Masi is a producer. They make an Amarone Della Valpolicella Classico, a Campofiorin, "Ripasso", and possibly others. If you can't find any in Oklahoma, and you should ask, let us know.

Here is an update. There is an article in the April edition of Wine & Spirits on Destination Restaurants. In the article they let the owners or wine stewards expound on a favorite part of their extensive wine lists. When they come to Valentino the twenty eight year old multi awarded landmark in Santa Monica, founder and owner Piero Selvaggio pontificates on Amarone in general and on Masi Amarone in some detail. This description is included, "A dry red with sweet undertones. Perfect with rich, gamey ragus. A wine of lingering intensity, a wine for meditation." Now I wish, I'd picked some up when I was in NYC last weekend.
