Tried a 3-oz. pour ($9.00) with roasted lamb loin with sweet corn custard, spinach and slivers of oyster mushrooms at Vin Enoteca, Raleigh, NC. Color: brick red to purple, transparent
Nose: big aroma of cherries and boysenberries
Taste: cherries and muted cedar
Enough tannin or acid to cause a mild pucker; definitely better with food than alone.
(Had peach cobbler with creme fraiche ice cream for dessert and one of the partners sent over a tasting of a marvelous Austrian Smaragd dessert wine)
