Tralivio--1999 Classico Superiore Verdicchio.

Wow! Big, steely, balanced, fruit, and bone dry.

Even winoweenie would enjoy this 13.5% alcohol.

It was wonderful matched with dill ravioli stuffed with smoked salmon, in broth of chicken stock, shallots, garlic, carrots, fresh rosemary, reggiano cheese and fresh oregano.

Alas, not sure if it is worth the $14 it cost--maybe $10 to $12.

Damn Foodie , that sounds delicato. Think the rav would be as good with Randys` SH Merlot Rose? WW

WW, there is no such thing as a Rose Merlot, no matter what SH says. Soon, they will be selling white Barbera....

Foodie, Bob T. of Sutter Home mite send the wine police after you. It`s possible to make a (UGH!) Rose from all of my lovely RED grapes. WW

Sutter Home White Merlot, same old wine, with a new name, and their new label. Very smart of them to make the name change as the White Merlots are an "in" wine right now!

WW, there is a reason to fight when the wine police come knocking--do not let the fad mongers whiten up those marvelous reds.

Chitty-----, let me know what you think. I have not been impressed with a Verdicchio on such a level before.
