Grape: Negroamaro 100%
Place: Carmiano (Lecce/Puglia)
Vineyards(I visited last saturday)40 years old/ classic "alberello pugliese"/ clay soil.
Barrique aged for 6/8 months
Producer: Pino Carrozzo (Az.Alessandro Carrozzo) GREAT MAN!
Alchol content: 14% on the label(but I think more!)
Production: 5000/7000 bottles depending on the vintage.
Price: € 8 in wineshops (ITALY)

Tasting notes:
although You can feel vanilla hints on the nose, the wine offers much, much more...
juicy mature red fruit/ spicy /mineral sensations of earth&humus (tipical of negroamaro) / smooth tannins..
the wine shows some little imperfections that make me love (and drink it) it more...

I drunk it with fresh sheep cheese & little dried tomatoes once and with a geat lamb with potatoes a second time the day after.

Hi Scrim and as usual nice to read your post. Sounds like a wine I'd Like. When Roberto gets back from Brazil and gets the smile off his face I'll see if he has it. CB would probably like it also as she seems attracted to things with " small imperfections "WW
