Had a 3-oz. pour at a Raleigh restaurant. Light crimson color and clear. Berry nose and flavors with some Bing cherry also. Light to medium body. I liked this well enough that I am thinking about buying two bottles if still available at the associated wine store. Can see it as a summer red with light fare.

Have not tried this one, which I've seen around here, but will look for it.
Had the '99 Chorey Cote de Beaune from this producer, which was pretty heavy, but with good cherry fruit, though. I remember having liked it.

Dan, this would probably seem a bit more refined or elegant than the Chorey. Unfortunately it costs about $50 per bottle which is why I have hesitated a bit to purchase it. I haven't quite figured out if it is considered a Grand Cru Burgundy. It may be.
Well I answered my own question. It is a grand cru. The 2001 that I sampled was given 91 points by Allen Meadows (Burghound) and was selling for about $63 at K & L in California.
Well, if this isn't confusing! I looked again at the K&L site and it advertises Tollot-Beaut Corton-Bressandes, Grand Cru. Then further down on the website it says that Corton (red wines) and Corton-Charlemagne (white wines) are the only Grand Cru in the Corton region and lists Corton-Bressandes and a few others as premier cru wines. That is probably the correct classification. If it were a grand cru it would probably cost even more that $50-$63 dollars per bottle. Anyway, it's awfully good for a Pinot Noir lover.
Dan, another good bet that might be less pricy is Colin-Deleger Santenay, Cote de Beaunes. Santenay doesn't command quite the prices of some Burgundy regions, but this one was a winner (I had the 1999 in New York City but 2002 is supposed to be a very good vintage also if you come across it. The 1999 is selling sell for under $30 a bottle.)

Thanks! I'll keep an eye out for it as well as the Santenay.
Did the Oregon Pinot thing this weekend, with the Lemelson I posted a TN on as well as a Benton Lane. This weekend, though, we're doing California Pinots -- on Friday night likely a Daniel Gehrs that I've raved about previously (my wife's fave, and it's our 9th anniversary this Thursday, though we're celebrating on Friday) and on Saturday night I think we'll open a Martinelli.
