Ts Kairanga Martinborough 23.98. No Reccollection of this bottle.
Domaine Carneros Carneros 2001. 19.98. Nicely balanced but slight preference for the Acacia.
Had a bottle of the Bruce with my chicken and all-in-all a good time was had by the natives. Getting to the reference of this post I've never seen as many people at a store tasting before in my whole ever-lovin'-put-together. They actually had to send out for more hamburger about 2 hours into this shin-dig. Look for some drastic price increases on your faavorite pinots. The salesman from Southern said they have completely depleted their allocation of Sanford. Usually they end up closing out the last vintage to clear the way for the new one...Not enny-mores folk! The Weener oughta get one of those shiny statues just for tasting his way through 20 different wines! Definitely outa my league.

Interesting that the pusher would offer up burgers with pinot... never tried that, usually choose a Rhonie or Spanish red wif buggers. Munificent notes, WW.

Thanks for all these Pinot notes, WW.

Anne and I plan to pop a Foxen tonight in deference to Sideways while we watch the awards.

I agree with many of your notes on the ones I've tried (earlier vintages). David Bruce is overpowering for some dishes but good with a strong cheese (or barbecue). Testarossa is doing some nice things. I've been seeking a ZD Pinot Noir to equal the first one I tried several years ago at the Pinehurst Wine Festival and have been disappointed. Sounds like 2002 is the year!
I haven't found a "Down Under" Pinot Noir that has really impressed me. And I love some Morey St. Denis Burgundies although the ones I've tried have mostly been from Arlaud.
