While in Oregon last summer, we had the chance to visit at length with Jay McDonald of EIEIO (get it? old mcdonald on his farm?). Really nice guy that spent much more time talking with Anne (a lawyer) about the myriad legal hoops to jump through in the business than he did talking with Dan about his wines. This NV table wine is all PN, and he included it in our case as a throw-in, simply to say thanks. It has an awesome pink pig for a label, so people have many nicknames for it (swine wine, etc.). We just called it "the pig wine."

100% Willamette fruit. Dark, reddish-purple in color, with a nose of plums and spices. Earthy, plummy flavors dominate, with some toffee and clove on the finish. Somewhat rustic, but fills the bill for $20 Pinot. A blend of 2003 and 2004 barrels that didn't make the cut. No alc. given on the label, so maybe Jay figured out some legal loophole to avoid that requirement.

Sounds very interesting.
