Since there was only one other real wine drinker besides us, we decided to get out the "good stuff". We opened up an 01 Siduri Garys' and an 02 Loring Rosella's. The Gary's was a huge, dark wonderful wine that was so smooth. Probably will be going good for another 3 years or more. The Rosella's was rich and fruity, almost like a Syrah, but with definite PN characteristics. This was made for drinking now, and maybe another 2 years. We like this style better than traditional Burgundian reds, but then we like Joe Davis' PN's too. Go figure.

Finally got on them dudes mailing lists. Have been able to snare a pipe or six over the years and REALLY like the style. Reminds me of some of the early Joe Swans'. WW

I drank some nice Pinot Noir as well, but not any Pinot Syrah. I like the classic style of Pinot, not the high alcohol, high extract beasts that are on the market, but to each their own. That is what makes the wine world fun.

WW, which mailing list are you on? Brian Loring's? Enjoy.

- winoweenie - 12-02-2003

WOW I got on both Brians and Sea Smokes list. WW

This is beginning to sound like the West Coast Weenie Network...... whoa, who's list are you on..... Yikes!

- Kcwhippet - 12-03-2003

I'm on a bunch of other lists, too, but that's not to say that I always, or in some cases ever, buy anything from them.

(With a haughty expression and nose in the air)...I thought I was at Westcoastwine.net for a second Whew...back to earth.

"And you should have seen the expression on the bistros owners face when I handed him the 94 Screaming Pidgeon, Bryan Fanpily, and Opie to uncork with our burgers and fries". Feel more at home now Buckinheister?
