- Innkeeper - 09-26-2002 1998 Starr, Bert's Blend, Pinot Noir, Oregon ($15 Wine Expo). Nice ruby color, a tad darker than most. Red cherries and a hint of mint on the nose and upfront. Refreshing bouquet of complex fruit flavors, and smooth, smooth tannin across the palate, and a lingering finish. Matched very well with grillpanned smoked pork chops and veggies. Very nice value in a pinot, but may be just another of Roberto's fleeting bargains. - Botafogo - 09-26-2002 Actually, we have maybe 20 cases of it.... That stuff just seems to TASTE better at $14.99 than the original $30+ tarrif, hunh??? - Innkeeper - 09-26-2002 You bet. Go for it folks. - winedope1 - 09-26-2002 thanks for the tip, guys! |
