Decanted 30 minutes before 1st pour. Light ruby in color. Bright cherry fruit and a touch of red spices on the nose, with a hint of the violet that wondersofwine noticed (I didn't get the plums impression, however). The flavors lean to the cherry, also, but the nice thing about this is the clarity of fruit and the frame for it. Perfect texture for a Pinot, with a nice acidity that keeps it fresh. Long finish. Very nice wine that made Anne happy, also. Picked it up at a secret location that I can't disclose on an open forum. Paid $39. Alc. 14.2%. FWIW, WS gave it an 87.

Thanks for the note, Dan.

Another bottle of this over the weekend. Still very nice. Purchase location doesn't seem to be an issue in this market anymore, as I've seen it on more than one retail shelf recently. Before, it was on the "down low," because it was only available to restaurants. Not sure why the change, but it just makes it easier for me to find it, and less expensive when I do (closer to $30 now).

Hey, I like the price coming down. Will have to see if any Raleigh or Charlotte shops carry it.

Had the last of our stash tonight while Anne and I decorated the Christmas tree ("Merry" -- get it?). Anyway, it continues to be dominated by cherry on the nose and palate, but secondary aromas and flavors are playing a bigger role, including coffee, barnyard, and white pepper. Still lovely mouthfeel and texture. Fun night in these parts.
