Picked this up at Costco this morning to pair with stew tonight. Bright fruity nose with a slight yet welcome undertone of varnish to temper the fruit, good structure on the palate, moderate finish; already throwing a fair amount of sediment. A very nice wine, should have bought more, even at the price of $19.49 per which seems high historically. Alcohol is 13.5%.

You old leather tongue! There is hope for you yet. This is a dandy OR Pinot, especially for the price. The tannins can use a little time.

BTW, I fired off the smoker for the first cookout last weekend. Cooked up six racks of ribs. The guests said they were the best they ever consumed -- of course I paid for the compliments. I used 30# of charcoal and kept pitching in apple logs. Five hours later I had ribs falling off of the bone.

The smoker is everything I dreamed of, thanks to your help. I ordered the Klose stainless steel rib racks -- they are dandies.

Bucko, I forget...what day of the August offline are we invited for ribs at your house?

Not with a rib in his mouth.

Glad to hear the smoker's a success, Buckster. Was beginning to suspect your frau had decided to make a planter out of it.

You're confusing his frau with CB. I can make baby-backs taste like a wine box. WW
