What types of wines are good to serve with a turkey dinner?

Hi Calvin, and welcome to the Wine Board. Because of widely and wildly divergent flavors usually associated with this feast, the best bet is red zinfandel. If you have guests that can't handle red wine, get a high quality white zinfandel such as Bueuhler Napa Valley.

My preferences are Beajolais Nouveau and Gewurztraminer for those who prefer a white wine. Zinfandel is a more American choice but I like the flavor of the new Beaujolais wine with turkey and it pairs with cranberry sauce also.

We like a Riesling from the Mosel-Sahr-Ruwer with turkey. Preferably, a Kabinett.

Riesling, Nouveau, Gewurztraminer, and Barbera...........

I also like grenache.

Hello to All,
This is my first time on this sight and i hope to get some good tips regarding Thanksgiving Diner. I'm currently in Belgium and will my spending my first one here. I personally prefer reds but my guest like white, what would be a good white wine to buy from this region to go with turkey? I'd appreciate any help I could get.

Welcome to the board. There are many good choices available to you. Personally, I prefer a German Riesling from the Mosel-Sahr-Ruwer with turkey, but a French Sauvignon Blanc or Chenin Blanc would work well, too.

Say howdy to the folks at SHAPE for me; visited once per month from Germany back in the '70's.
