A good one to be sure! Haven't had the '96 Estate yet but this is my fave of the '96s thus far....

1996 Joseph Swan Vineyards Pinot Noir, Wolfspierre Vineyards; Russian River Valley (CA)

Very pretty ruby and magenta tones. Rich and enticing in appearance. Nose of raspberry, pomegranite with a hint of herbs, cinnamon and a slight touch of toast. On the palate, plenty of juicy fruit indeed with excellent balance and more depth than I expected. Good structure, should drink nicely for at least 5 to 7 years, maybe longer. An excellent match for my blackened salmon.
