Hi Everyone,
I was hoping to find some information regarding a bottle of 1986 Charlone Vineyard Pinot Noir; perhaps someone with any insight into this year/varietal could offer some advise on this bottle - quality/when it would be best to drink/etc.
thanks,
mitch

Chalone has a pretty good reputation for unique Pinot Noir -- in fact, Chalone has it's own AVA. That having been said, it is highly unlikely that the wine is still alive, and the chance declines even more if it hasn't had pristine storage. Popping it is the only way to find out, though I'd suggest having a back-up bottle ready just in case it has gone to the great vinegar barrel in the sky.

Welcome to the wine board.
