BRW was so carried away by the Insignia he forgot we had this lil' lovely before departing the house for lunch. Was positive I'd posted on this before but it musta' slipped thru the cracks. Brite ruby. Nose of ripe red fruits, roses, earth, and spice. Silky entry, medium center and a solid 4-lapper finish. At the very top of its' game but will hold for another 5-7. Really a fine example of Russian River Pinot from one of its' most talented winemakers. 91/90 42 on futures. 14.8% alc. WW

Had this for lunch today. Getting into some deep burgandy aromas with some of the forest floor, horse blanket notes coming on. More of the plummy/blueberry notes hitting the palate. This baby is really hitting its' stride. No change in scoring. WW

My coming home lunch wine. Solid citizen this stuff! Seems like the flavors have deepened and expanded or I'm glad to get back to my stash. Would probably kick this lil' hummer up a pernt to 92. Next to last bottle.WW

Over the last few years, have you started to drink more Pinot Noir, or does it just seem that way? I think you've probably made more PN posts in the past two months than you have Cabs.

It may seem that way Dan but what happens in the summer here is I tend to do the lighter reds, as we also eat more fish in the summer. It's getting back to cab weather. Had one yesterday as a matter of fact thaat I'll post as soon as my lil' fat fingers qwit movin here. WW

I know what you mean, though. You don't drink SWs, and it's gotta be hard to enjoy a Cab when it's 114*.
