I was eager to try the 2000 Patricia Green Pinot Noir, Four Winds, Yamhill, OR at Tastings Restaurant in Charlottesville, VA but they were "transitioning" their wine list and were out of it. They overed a Ken Wright as a substitute but I turned that down as I had particularly wanted to try a wine from Patricia Green. I did have two half glasses of red Burgundies with my dinner entree (grilled duck breast with Armagnac reduction, berries or currants, rice, diced zucchini/tomato/squash dish.)
1996 Bertrand Ambroise Nuits-St-Georges V.V. (old vines) $9.95 for a half glass
Both of the wines were Burgundy color and mostly clear.
Dark fruit nose and flavors; smells mature.
Medium body; strong tannins on the finish.

1998 F. Meunier Morey-St-Denis $7.95 for the half glass
Perhaps less nose than the Nuits-St-Georges but juicy flavors. Light- to medium-body. Tastes more youthful than the N-S-G. Prefered the Morey-St-Denis balance but wish
it had a bit more heft.
