This is the first of a few TNs I'll post from some of the wines Anne and I have consumed over the holidays.

We had this one on Christmas Eve as a stand alone after dinner in the evening. We decanted it about 30 minutes primarily to air it out and warm it up a bit from cellar temp.

Very bright ruby color, and a nose of crushed raspberry and some light strawberry. Very silky texture in the mouth, with flavors following the nose. There was a bit of musky earthiness on the finish, and a trace of barnyard (which Anne calls "poo"). Certainly not as pronounced as the 2000 Adelsheim that I posted on a few months back, this simply gave the wine a bit of character. I'm interested in trying the "step-up" bottlings from Green. Alc. 13%. Paid $17 at Binny's in Chicago. FWIW, WS gave it an 88.

I've been hearing good things lately about Patricia Green Pinot Noirs. Haven't tried one yet so thanks for the tasting note.
