Domaine of Guillemette and Xavier Besson
.375 ml bottle; 13% alcohol
dark but clear burgundy color
nose of forest berries
fruit flavor (dark fruits) that exhibited better the first night than the second night
somewhat leesy, grainy texture
medium-long finish
Would recommend having this with food and finishing it in one evening. I had it with Beef Stroganov, and the lighter Burgundy character of the wine was a pretty good match with the beef, mushroom and sour cream dish (a Cabernet Sauvignon or even a more earthy, powerful Burgundy might have been too much for a fairly delicate dish.) I think the Givry might also be enjoyable with some cheese--maybe a Pecorino Romano to mix nationalities (of the wine and the cheese).
