We're looking for a nice $20 to $25 Burgundy that we can afford to buy by the case. This is a difficult price range to be in for sure but maybe some of you have favorites in this end. Deals I have found in the past are often Santenays, Mercureys and the like. Thoughts?
(Cali's need not apply)

Off the top of my head, the Domaine Tollot-Beaut Chorey-Cote de Beaune should run around that price point, though for some inexplicable reason runs about $10 more in Atlanta. If you can track down the '02 in your price range, it's a home run. I'll do some thinking and see if I can offer more recs. I expect Wonders will chime in, too.

I think you'll have better luck with the tooth fairy. The price range is tough. Here's two recommendations in the rough price range (both still available):

2003 Jean-Marc Bouley Volnay
2002 Domaine Mugneret-Gibourg Bourgogne

Sometimes available for under $30:
Colin-Deleger Santenay
Nicolas Potel Volnay
Jourdan '02 Cote de Nuits Villages Robignotte (also praised by Burghound, Allen Meadows) (Carolina Wine Company sells this if you can have them ship to you)
And the price comes down if you order by the case but then you might have shipping costs.

2004 Michel Magnien Bourgogne ($20).
More silky raspberry than dirt, but really good for the buck.

I agree with the Magnien. It is a newer style of burg and at that price tough to beat.

Also

Lafon Monthelie-Les Duresse Domaine Des Comtes 1er Cru (right at the top of the range if not just beyond), Very nice.

Vincent Girardin's are good such as the Maranges 1er Cru Clos des Loyeres

Domaine Francois Lumpp Givry 1er Cru Petit Marole is a serious wine. Great structure but may be tougher to find.

Alex Gambal also has some wines in this price category.

For those almost special nights, just a couple steps up are some great wines such as a G. Roumier Morey Saint Denis is around $45 a bottle and just a great wine or a Pousse D'or which is also in the same area maybe a bit less. Their noses are GREAT!

Thanks all. I'll ferret out some of these and give them a whack.
