- rocketman - 07-20-2000 I need to bring wine to a dinner party with a number of different main dishes. ther's broiled fish with lemon butter sauce, some veggie w/ chicken curry, an italian dish and a couple more dishes. Given those types, what kind of wine will be good with most of them if not all. - Innkeeper - 07-20-2000 Welcome to the Wine Board. If you are bringing at least two bottles, bring a Pinot Grigio, and a Barbara d'Alba. - route32 - 07-21-2000 Hey Rocket Man. For that Curry dish, definitely go with a Gewurztraminer (a California one, because these tend to be sweeter than Alsatians, and less expensive than German ones). Gewurztraminer is a spicy/sweet wine that balances hot, spicy dishes like curry. I posted a message about Gerwurztraminer for a non-Asian, but spicy salmon recipe that i found, so i hope someone replies. Anyway, good luck. :') |
