Although I've done a fair amount of experimenting, I must admit that I've been in a CA cab/Aussie shiraz rut of late, so I decided to uncork this bottle with lunch.

Clear ruby color. Nose of strawberries, black cherry, and a touch of vanilla. Light-bodied, with a smooth and silky mouthfeel, delicate tannins, and a lingering finish. 200 cases; available at winery for $20.

Married perfectly with leftover garlic-crusted eye of the round roast sandwiches on toasted wheat bread with homemade garlic-horseradish sauce, and roasted beets on the side. (IK, your food descriptions have inspired me).
