Simply gorgeous bottle of juice. Ruby color, nose of red cherries, crushed raspberries, and a hint of barnyard. Flavors follow nose, adding a bit of bacon fat and a slight mushroom element that didn't detract from the fruit, only added complexity. Very soft and flavorful, with a wonderful silky texture. Finished long. Improved through the evening. Decanted. Alc. 13.5%. Paid $30 locally, on closeout from the usual $50 price tag. We just loved this one and I wish I had bought more. FWIW, WS 88; to '08. With the tannins having receeded like they did, I wouldn't sit on this too much longer. A "Wow!" wine. Anne compared this to the Carabella that I post on today by calling it "Beauty and the Beast."

Oh Dan,

thems is great wines indeed--wish I could afford them more often, but then, I am in the wine business, which means I can't afford wine...

Well, being in education, I shouldn't be able to afford them too often, either. Being married to an attorney has it's perks, however
