Deep ruby color.Red fruit, meats, spices, and earth nose and palate. Deep flavors of RRV fruit, with a core of Pinot, and brite currants and cinnamon dominating. As usual, Garys' deft hand shows in keeping this wione focused. Solid entry, center and a super 4-lapper finish. Great P/Q, 90/91. 27 by the box. 13.8% alc.WW

Gary Farrell is one of the Sonoma wineries I hope to visit in April following a conference in Monterey. I don't think I've ever had his wines. By the way, now that wineries can ship directly to consumer in North Carolina I ordered some wines from Saintsbury (a NC retailer offers the Garnet but not some of the higher end Pinots).

Had picked up one of these a month ago and popped tonight with cedar plank salmon (fresh wild Alaskan sockeye), couscous, and steamed brocolli, finished with a couple of chocolate almond clusters. Dee-lightful! Nice touch with the RRV dirt tempering the bright fruit. I'm cleared to buy more. Paid $24.39.
