Dark ruby in the glass, with a nose of bing cherry. Decanted 30 minutes before pouring and throughout evening. Pretty, jazzy fruit flavors with more of the cherry mixed in with strawberry and raspberry. Good, racy acidity gives it a nice, clean finish. Not terribly complex, but terribly fun to drink. This one went down in a hurry. Alc. 14%. Paid $21 locally. FWIW, WS gave it an 88; said drink to '06. This one is on top right now.

Dan,

That description sounds like Zinfandel.

I guess I am getting like Stevebody about Pinot Noir, at least New World Pinot Noir. Where's the elegance or finesse?

Wouldn't be surprised if that wine falls apart in about four years.

This one was more delicate and feminine than perhaps my description conveyed, but you're right in that it is New World in how the fruit lacks the balancing earthiness for which I tend to look.

Still a fun drink, however.

And, yes, you're probably right -- this thing will not hold very long, so drink 'em if you've got 'em.
