as we prepare for thanksgiving dinner i am looking for some nice pairin of wines for this family dinner with turkey.

Hi Hurri, and welcome to the Wine Board. Red Zinfandel for the strong, and White Zinfandel for the weak. It is not only the grape grown only in America by that name, but both versions hold up well to the multitudinous flavors of Thanksgiving.
