1999 Kenwood, Pinot Noir, Olivet Vineyard, Reserve, Russian River Valley, California, $30, 1,644 cases. This is a dandy example of a Russian River Pinot. The nose is intense, complex, with black cherry, cinnamon, mushroom and black tea notes. Very balanced and pretty, the aromas do an encore on the palate. 92/92.

Amazin' Buckco-ole-chap. Was one of the bottles I took to Mexico. Didn't keep any detailed notes as after my morning workout, my routine was a trip to Lilys' whenced I was immediately served a Tequila Sunrise, followed by a 'nother then a stupendeous omelette with onions, tomatoes and the freshest shrimp in the world was presented with the third TS and the morning was off. I do recall that this was one of the bottles I enjoyed before dinner on Sat . I'll try another and post sometime next week. WW

Send me one of those omelets for a second opinion......

Wish to the blazes I could can them suckers. Did manage to bring back 10 lbs of shrimp yesterday. My vendor, whos brother owns the shrimp boat, had 2 1/2 lbs of his "Collosal"
size ( 3-4 shimp per POUND ). I grudging paid his bandido-inspired price of 10.99 per lb (hehehe). His giant 8-12 per lb are 9.99 and his regular 15-20 per lb are 7.99. They went in the freezer last nite 1st thin. They are as good a shrimp as is found on the face of. I've tried to replicate the omelette but it looses something in the translation. (Think it mite be sitting on Lils' veranda and watching the pelicans and sea-gulls make their morning dives.) WW

that's it, ww--you need the sea air. But I commend you for having the strength to carry ten pounds of shrimp; Bucko tells me you are quite feeble in your dotage...

I had a rack, cooler, and telly installed on my wheel-chair. WW

Some of the freshest, best shrimp I ever ate were purchased from a seafood stand at a town on the NC side of the SC/NC border (not too far from Myrtle Beach). We ate them simply prepared the first night at a church retreat, and then I put some of the leftovers in an omelette the next morning along with sliced black olives, shredded cheese, onion, and diced bell pepper. UMMM! We also made our own individual "pizzas" on French bread one night.

I never said he was feeble, I said he was feeble-minded!
