Usually Zin makes a pretty good match, but they also tend to have a jammy quality. Look for wines from the Rhone Valley, France. Cote du Rhone, Crozes Hermitage are two examples that won't break the bank and each can be great. - Thomas - 07-06-1999 Aree with Jason. You can also find some good Rhone-like wines that are produced in the Languedoc, and at a reasonable price. But you should ask someone reputable for advice on them. Once in a while, a big, bold, berry-like Pinot Noir pairs well with lamb. |
