I opened this after I got home from the vertical tasting and what a surprise! This wine is a SERIOUS wine. Even after tasting $80-$110 bottles all night, this $25 bottle stood toe toe...in fact, it was indeed the most serious wine of the evening for me.

Nose was reserved even after decanting for a hour. Nose of fresh bright fruit and a lean elegant gaminess. Some cedar wood, earthiness, but a very focused wine. Nice garnet color. Higher in acidity and good tannins and alcohol was just a bit noticable at the back like a CDR but this was entirely enjoyable. None of the elegance and suppleness of the Compte Armnad, this wine was just so focused.

Great bottle!
