Had the chance to prove my mettle at Thanksgiving.

I brought a few wines, the above was one of them. When the time came to open it, I got a whiff of TCA from the cork, but only slightly. I poured some in my glass and got another vague whiff of TCA. This has happened many times before, and I knew the vague whiff would only get worse, so I pronounced the wine DEAD.

One person at the table disagreed with me. My chance!

I opened a second bottle, poured the wine, handed him both glasses and asked if he still disagreed. I was right!

The second bottle was fresh, cherry-like, medium body, great snap and fine with turkey.
