Anderson Valley. Decanted 30 minutes before 1st pour and through evening, though it didn't last very long.

Dark ruby in color, with a complex and expressive nose that includes black cherry, strawberry, hazelnut, bacon fat, and a touch of barnyard. Gorgeous, silky texture in the mouth, with the fruits tumbling across the tongue with nice acidic balance and an earthy core to temper flavors of sweet cherry cordial and vanilla cream on the finish. Really, really nice juice. Alc 14.2%, and perfectly in balance for the wine. Anne loved it. She bought it a few years ago at Vintage Wines in San Diego for about $40. I'll be on the lookout on local shelves for the recent vintage. One of the better Cali PN we've had in awhile.

BTW, thanks to WW for the tip on Vintage -- Anne put together a case of Pinot back then, and we've opened them from time to time over the past several years, never once finding a clunker.
