There is an upcoming anniversary in my family that I would like to celebrate with a very old bottle of Bordeaux (there are reasons for this that I won't bore you with). The wine needs to date back to the '78, '79, '80, or '81 vintage. Is there any chance I will be able to find such a bottle for sale? Does anyone know where or how I might look? Thanks...

Hi John and welcome to the board. 82 was one of the greatest vintages ever in Bordeaux. However the wines are extremely expensive. The next best vintage you posted is the 78.The 78 Latour is my favorite of the vintage and can be found for 200-250 per. E-mail hitimeclrs@aol.com or sales@2020wines.com. Both of these sources are in So Cal and can ship to Wa. Expect to pay 600 for an 82 Latour. WW

Great news, thanks so much for the incredibly prompt reply. I remember that '82 was a great year, I just didn't know if it could still be found. Can I assume that the references you gave me can vouch for the storage, etc. of the wine? I just want to have a fighting chance of the bottle still being good. ...JL
