- -Matt- - 09-06-2002 I have some bottles of Bordeaux that I've brought with me from France. I was hoping that people here could help me work out when these wines are at their best. But I've searched this groups archives, and I'm guessing that the wines are quite obscure, especially to the non-French! So I'd also appreciate any general tips on how long to store a wine. The bottles have been stored in my cellars, and been moved once (from France to Germany). How cold is it in my cellar? No idea, especially not in Fahrenheit! OK, here's the list: 97 Maucaillou Moulis 93 Margaux, "Collection Alexandre de Gasey" (Maehler Besse) 94 Haut-Medoc, Chateau La Lagune 99 Mouton-Cadet 96 St Emilion Grand Cru, Chateau Roc de Boisseaux 97 Medoc, Barons de Rothschild, Reserve Speciale 98, Saint Estephe, Prieur de Meyney 99, Margaux, Chatuea Martinens, Cru Bourgeois 00, Pauillac, Chateau Arignes Thanks for any help! Matt - winoweenie - 09-06-2002 Hi Matt and welcome to the board. The 93 & 94 are ready or past drinkability. The rest need to be drunk shortly. None of these wines are from the Classified growths' with the exception of the La Lagune. They are mostly regional wines that are meant for the locals. Drink Up !! WW |
