I have been reading (wine specator, newspaper articles) that the 1998 Bordeaux wines in certain areas are the best in quite some time (comparable to the 1989's). I have access to a wine merchant in London (I am leaving in Dublin, Ireland) and would like to know if these prices are reasonable for the 1998 vintage.
Cht. Haut-Brion, Pessac-Leognan: $2080
Cht. La Mission-Haut-Brion, Pessac Leognan:$1200
Any assistance would be helpful.

The prices you show there are a bit high. I think Haut Brion might still be hanging around at $1,750 however, it is rumored to be one of the wines of the vintages, so the price may in fact be around $2,000 now.

The price on the LMHB is in the ball park, maybe a bit high.
