I have a 3 litre bottle of 1981 Red Bordeaux Wine labled Chateau Montrose, Saint Estephe.
I am seeking any information about this wine.
I received it as a premium for a donation made to a public radio station. Thank you.

raw982k, welcome to the board. Montrose is one of the finest estates in St. Estephe. Their wines are normally extremely concentrated and long-lived. 1981 was an atypical vintage for Montrose. The wine is unusually soft and supple and seems far more effiminate than the massive 82. In the large format you have, the wine should have several more years but in the regular bottles I had, I finished drinking them last year. Get a bunch of your close friends, do like Hotwine, throw a slab of beef on the barbie and party-down. They`ll love it. winoweenie
