Beautifully straddling old world, new world styles. Well integrated tannins. Bursting with dark blue fruits. Not as jammy as many right bank 03 Bordeaux. Great grip, silky texture. Pair it with a smokin' japapeno or kobe burger!

Sounds great! Based on your tasting you think that left bank with more merlot/CF did better? I'm inclined to believe that. I've tasted many 03's and it feels like a crap shoot. Some are great (03 Leoville Barton and now that you mention it, some st. emillons), and some feel like they are starting to fall apart. I should have taken more care with my notes and separated the Lefties from the Righties.

Thanks for the update.

Ive certainly noticed more fruit on the right bank, and a deeper concentration. 2003 was a very tough year for Bordeaux. Twas hot, and not enough rain. Result was low acidity and higher alcohol due to levels of sugar concentration. Some were a hit, and some missed. 03 Lynch Bages I thought performed well. Didn't you taste that Mike?

I'm not sure but don't think so. Tasted an 05 Lynch Bages recently I think
