the prices look almost silly frankly looking back... Especially Carruades de Lafite which now retails for $400 a bottle (auctions for in the $300's.......) crazy....

I'd never drink the stuff if I had any. Pontet Canet for $40-$45 a bottle is also a great price. 2009 is more than double this but I still bought it.

This post keeps re-inventing itself every few. Was looking for a post on the 2000 Carrudes de Lafite and ran into this sucker agin'. Having a bottle for lunch and still trying to reconcile 300 a clatter with what's in the glass. Bought 2 boxes and still have no idea what they're talking about. Having with a nice grilled homemade hamburger. Looks like the rest of these suckers hit the resale-trail.WWHuh (Have 27 per in the dudies)

Nice to look at these once in a while. While I lamented way back then in this string that I started wine a couple of years after the 2000's futures, I did notice a few good things.

Except for the absurdity that is anything first growth and their second wines, there are many of my fav wines on the list and they are still reasonable.

Sociando Mallet has only increased about 50% over the course of a good decade. Great wines. Ormes de Pez, de Pez, etc, good stuff, even Figeac, I just picked up soeme 08 Figeac today retail for $75 so not much of a movement (until 09 and especially 10 which are now well into the $200 retail....).

But looking back into my consumption history, I also did not completely miss out on the 2000's. My personal list of great P/Q 2000's that I was able to try and now add to your list.

Chateau Destieux
Chateau Grand Pontet
Chateau Teynac
Chateau Chappelle de la Mission Haut Brion (They were $25 back then...)
Chateau Chasse-Spleen
Chateau Cantemerle

I loved the St Emilions even early on.
