I am quite the novice at picking wines. The dish has a red sauce. CAn someone help me?

Hi sdn and welcome to the board. I'm quite a novice myself, but I had a delicious wine with pizza tonight. It was a Salice Salentino. Tasted like berries to me. Everybody loved it.
