Under the guidance of May-Elaine de Lencquesaing of the venerable super-second Pichon Lalande since 1996 this Haut Medoc property has made some great changes. The 00 is by far the best I've had from this property. Deep ruby. Reluctant nose but afeter an hour in the glass gave loads of brite red fruits, earth, sweet spices, and a dose of bakers cocoa. All came across on the palate. Smooth entry, solid center and a 4-lapper finish that was cut off by soft tannins. This honker needs another 4-6 to really show off. Potentially great juice. 90/96. 15 on futures.13% alc. WW

Decided to open this while I watched our Cardinals at SF. Went to bed before the game was over content in the fact we were finally going to start a new season out winners....WRONG. Woke up this morn to discover the same-ole'-same-ole'. Well at least I had pleasure drinking this extremely well-made deli-ci-osis bottle. Deep ruby verging on purple. Nose has expanded and the wine has fleshed out in general. The brite red fruits have added a liberal amount of blackberries and the tannins have receded but still needs another 2-3. This bottle will reward the extra time. Only my 2nd bottle from this box and I'm already kicking myself for not buying more. Think this will repeat itself many times over as I dig into the 2-grand vintage. Kick this hummer up to a solid 91. WW

Opened another for lunch yesterday. Think 3rd growth at least! Brite clear ruby. Nose has developed some secondary aromas along with the fruit, spices, and chocolate that give terrior, and some leather notes. The finish has improved greatly as the tannins have become tamer. Looking at the price again I must be one of the dumbest kids on the block for not loading up on this sucker. Take to a 92. WW

Opened this lil' lovely Tues nite after returning from Rocky Point and nothing has changed. Everything is as neat as Moms' sewing room. A great bottle that rises way above its' humble stature. No change in scoring. WW

Speaking of Mom's sewing room, we finally got true love's room organized for the first time since we moved here. The motivation was the fact that one daughter's inlaws were invited for Thanksgiving. She had told her mother-in-law that she just had to see the sewing room. So son-in-law and moi did all the heavy lifting, and Bev put everything back neatly. Now she shows it to everyone who stops by!
