Deep garnet ruby color.

Nose of some black and some red berries, taste on front was the fruit moving to an older wood, Good balance but Tannins came on a bit at end. Medium body and only a medium finish that kinda disappointed.

Very straight forward Bordeaux from a good year. okay, nice drinking for a moderate post futures price of $24.99.

Of the 6 jillion Bel Aires in Bordeaux, what is the appellation ? WW

hehe...oops... Graves..
An A. Cazes is listed as the proprietaire.

Hmm after a bit more decanting, this bottle is opening up a bit. I like a more now. It's now picked up a bit of smokiness and gravel and the flavors are more dense with still a good acid/tannin back. Still only medium body though and still only medium length finish.

A quick search on the internet noted that this person is actually Jean Michel Cazes of Chateau Lynch Bages.

Dint' buy that hummer on futures but will pick up a dram or so if I see it as J.M.C makes GOOOOD juice. WW

Greeting E,

Have you, per chance, tried the Ch. Carrignan 2000 or the Ch. Bel Orme?

They're both very reasonably priced bottles...

Give them a bit of time to breath and they'll reward you handsomely.

[I had these two wines back awhile ago... so I won't file a tasting report on them at this time.] I also tasted another wine called Ch. Rouvierre (???) back about the same time. I can only remember that it was a nice glass of wine with a beautifully dark red-purple color and a nice nose. As I recall, it was a bit on the tannic side but became softer after a bit of time. It was tasted at The Four Seasons in Seattle, WA.

So many wines... so little time!

Cheers

C,

thanks for the heads up. I'll look for these. I know that I've seen the Ch. Carrignan 2000 before. I'll find one and let you know!

Think I'm getting a little be better at this now,....just a bit...but this bottle certainly did taste better than the last one. In fact, I wish that I had a few more....but I only started out with two.

Nice floral sense and then the black currant opens up on the nose with some distinct pencil shaving. The taste is as per the nose, but there is a good bit of structure there with the acidity being reasonbly high. Tannins are soft and receding. I like this one too especially for the price of about $24.
