At a tiny French cafe on Brompton Road in Kensington, London, called La Bouchee (accent over the first "e"). By the glass one night, with escargot and rib steak for two; a bottle the next night, again with escargot, Scottish beef and mixed veggies. Better the first night, probably due to being open longer. An excellent example of a "last growth" bargain. Cafe price was BP29, but found on Google in some stateside retail outlets for about $9. If you find it, let it breathe in decanter for at least an hour, or even better for two.

The best snails we've had in 30 years! And creme broule to die for!

Admission by reservation only. I found it by asking for a French restaurant recommendation at a wine shop a block away (Barclay's, I believe). Superb!
