Color is a bit more pronounced than the Chatelain, stronger nose also, somewhat oily in the glass; definite wood overtones on the palate, very much a traditional style Chardonnay that's available virtually anywhere. In fact, this wine in unchanged since at least the 1990 vintage when I first recall buying it; a bit lighter in color now, but the flavors are the same. 12.5% alc/vol and $17.69 at Costco - 'way over-priced.

Call me a slow learner; I won't be buying this again, if I can remember to steer clear.

This is the style that ruins Chablis.

You are soooooo right, Foodie! The style kind of gave Chablis a bad name for years in my view - just seeing the word "Chablis" on a label was enough to make me pass it by. Too bad, probably missed some nice wines along the way.
