Kistler "Kistler Vineyards" '02
Nose somewhat muted; chardonnay fruit with a touch of smoke. The palate has nice soft fruit on the front which turns into vanilla, even butterscotch on the back palate. Nice medium finish.

Kistler "Dutton Ranch" '03
Much more going on with this nose. Wet green apple pealings with a touch of oak. The palate has more typical fruit with a great balance of malo and oak. Just a medium finish but one that leaves you begging for more.

Kistler does an outstanding job balancing thier chardonnays. I would almost put them in the same class as Peter michael and Marccison(sp). Great chardonnays.
