I have been deployed for quite a while and will soon be going home. I have plans for the first night home of fixing the wife a very nice and romantic dinner. I am not really a wine drinker, but theres always time to start upgrading my tastes. I think it will help set the mood and the dinner. I would like to know if anyone could suggest a good wine with the right flavor and taste for this dinner.

Thanks in advance for your help.

The actual menu will be:
Boiled Lamb Served with caper sauce, boiled turnips, cauliflower or spinach, and potatoes.

Hi Crewchief, and welcome to the Wine Board. Recommend what we had with lamb last night, Bogle Petite Sirah. It is in the ten dollar range.
