Picked up a few bottles of this 1998 Chilean CS almost a year ago, and just now getting around to trying it. The first bottle had leaked through to the capsule and was very thoroughly corked, with aromas of horse sweat and fetid mushrooms. As cloudy a wine as I've ever seen. The second bottle was intact, and presented a nose of roses and saddleleather. It opened up nicely over the next hour, with characteristic but somewhat subdued cab notes, and a nice jammieness on the finish. The database says the price paid was a princely $7.77. I'll buy more, but sniff the capsules before paying.

IMHO, the Los Vascos' I tried before the Rothie buy-in were superior to the combined expertise. The 92 was superb. WW

Current 99' vintage is what's available here. Anyone have it yet?

On the hunt for something a little different, tried the '99 tonight. Not much there, folks. Save your nickels for something worthwhile.
