I absolutely love Charles Krug cabernet, with Foppiano running a close second. I tend to like full bodied wines, very fruity and smooth, but no tobacco. I haven't ventured far from the Napa Valley cabernets, but would like to know of any other red wines that I might like from Napa Valley or anywhere. Not fond of Merlot but willing to try others.

Hi dt and a belated welcome to the board. You mite enjoy the Markham Napa, B.V. Rutherford, or the Mondavi Napa. All are in approx the same price range. WW

You might try Syrah from Washington State or Northern Rhone or in a blend such as Cotes du Rhone or Gigondas.
Have you given Pinot Noir/red Burgundies much of a try? These are often quite fruity and we could steer you towards some of the more full-bodied ones (some are light to medium body but not all).

Thanks for all the ideas. I'll give them a try.

Wondersofwine, I haven't tried Burgundy and Pinot Noir always seems too light bodied. I would welcome your full bodied suggestions in those areas.

You want full bodied Pinot Noirs try some from California's Central Valley. Lots of producers, but many only sell through mailing lists.

Here's a link to a Pinot that I found to be over the top and full bodied.
